Community Planning!

Events, Gatherings and Workshops

Annually, in collaboration with the Guidance Commission, the Haitian Consortium through The Fresh Start Movement® and the Thousand’s Group® will host over 100  day-long, collaborative planning workshops, seminars, and town meetings to help Haitian citizens address their growing concerns about the dilapidation of their country and present favorable redevelopment opportunities for the next 10 years.

Working groups of planners, urban economists, political scientists and concerned citizens around the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Latin America will brainstorm on economic development issues and programs vital for Haiti’s survival.

The agenda for the next two years will be concentrated on current pressing issues like: instability/ safety, vacant land throughout Haiti, housing Shortage, historic preservation, community services, and the decentralization of the overall economy.

Each participant will incorporate their ideas into drawing plans with short-term and long-term recommendations. The policy and design recommendations generated from these workshops and community gatherings will be incorporated into a final report that will help coordinate future investment and redevelopment programs in Haiti.
